A social entrepreneur in Exeter is looking for practical-hands-on-skilled people who can give practical support and help to raise vital funds to establish an alternative technology education centre for the South West of England. (The first of it’s kind in the UK)
A1 Positive Recycling Project, which are a not-for-profit community project, wants to build up a positive management team here in Exeter, Devon to help lead the future development of the non-profit community enterprise.
Neil is the CEO and Founder of A1 Positive Recycling which he started out as an IT technician upgrading and repairing computers and providing Eco-friendly services for customers in Exeter and Devon.
A1 Positive Recycling’s aim is to specialize in local on-site data wiping, computer & mobile phone recycling and refurbishment under the 2007 WEEE Directive which currently does not work properly in the UK.
The Project aims to reduce the local carbon footprint for our current and new client base within Exeter and Devon under the producer responsibility 1990 Waste legislation.
In May 2005 Neil received an Un Ltd level 1 Millennium award and a Co-op Community Dividend grant.
Neil said the planned alternative technology education centre would be aimed at training, educating and empowering adults and people with minor learning difficulties. This project will also create a worm farm and take bio degradable waste that will become a very high grade nutrient rich compost known as black gold.
He said he was looking for positive dynamic and committed skilled individuals who would like the opportunity to be part of a local steering group, we are looking for people with practical-hands-on-skills to support the community project and help run a pilot project’s on a daily basis and even become part of a strong management team after a three month work trial based in Exeter, Devon.

Neil's looking for experienced skilled people in Exeter, Devon who want to gain practical work experience and to be empowered and not enslaved.
There are two types of partnership as follows:
Informal partners are those who help with the working up of A1 Positive Recycling and may be involved in the delivery (e.g. members of a project steering group, or informal advisors) Such partners may be drawn from the voluntary, statutory or commercial sector, where mutual objectives are being met, or the specific partner has a mission to support A1 Positives community and management groups.
Formal Partners are partnership organisations who are working directly with A1 Positive Recycling to deliver and co-manage the project. Such partners may be drawn from the voluntary, statutory or commercial sector. In this case there will be an identifiable contribution in terms of service delivery management. Some of these contributions may attract remuneration for services, e.g. bookkeeping, payroll, administration and management, and service delivery.
However, it would be expected that such services would be provided on a not-for-profit and voluntary basis.
