An Exeter computer expert and solutions provider is aiming to set up a practical hands-on-scheme that will use working unwanted IT equipment under 4 years old to help reduce the local carbon emissions in Exeter, Devon thus reducing electronic waste in Devon to practically train people with minor learning difficulties in Devon. “The first of it’s kind in the UK”

Neil originally came up with the idea for the IT technical learning centre in May 1997 and in April 2005 became an UnLtd Millennium Award Winner.

The non-profit making project, provisionally called A1 Positive Recycling Project, aim to offer NVQ IT hardware computer courses, IT diagnostic workshops and other IT-based practical training to anyone over the age of 16.

It will also act as a computer recycling centre, breaking down and refurbishing working IT equipment and laptops, tablets and using parts to build working IT systems.

Neil said: "I would like computers and computing to be more accessible, because having basic PC hardware skills can improve people's prospects hugely, most people have a fear of modern technology.

"We will offer a new kind of practical-hands-on-training, where people can pick up vital practical work experience while training and learning new practical-skills, making them more qualified than the average school leaver."

Neil also believes his project offers a solution to problems that have arisen from a recently introduced European Parliament directive which means electrical or electronic waste should have stopped going to landfill from 2015 under producer responsibility. This Has Still Not happened and the UK is now dumping Million of tonnes every year. 

 

“It is unclear whether the large increase in the electronics recycling rate from 2012 to 2013 is due to an actual increase in recycling or the result of improved and expanded data. 1.87 million tons went into landfill and incinerators (60%) and only 1.27 million tons (40%) was recovered for recycling.  However, a significant amount of that 40% was exported.

He said: "The aim is to collect unwanted working IT computer equipment, so that it can be re-used and help teach people who sign up for a short hardware IT training programme."

The UK retail electronics industry is worth a staggering £250 Billion pounds per year to the UK economy and yet not one quarter of this profit is ever used to tackle this on-going waste problem meaning nothing is reused or refurbished and we are never solving this mass waste problem in the UK, all UK Government, Councils and environment agencies are a complete waste of time and public money. All UK public servants are a complete joke. Why the UK public carry on voting for highly corrupt puppets is completely outrages.   

I am the only person in the UK to link education with recycling since 2001 in England, Scotland and Wales and yet all governments have completely ignored my letters and positive solutions proving to me that they are all highly and completely corrupt in the UK.

Are UK apprenticeships a complete scam that fail to deliver actual results in Britain?

We would like to ask who actually pay us to take out time from running our company to train these people? to date we usually only give a 3 month work trial before offering them any practical training and qualifications of which they will have to sign a contract with us prior to starting, we have been caught out in the past, where we have taken on people who have left us after the first 3 to 6 months training period which meant we never got funded for all the training that we did, this left us in a very bad predicament and led to a loss of contracts and future business contracts.

We need guarantee's that all of our time and the qualifications will be fully funded, as we don’t have the time to waste given for free, we can’t afford to give our practical knowledge and expertise to people who are to lazy to make any real commitment or some person who does not have the passion and drive to be very committed to the task or project for completion.

We are only interested in actual fully funded courses that covers our training time for of our practical training delivered as without our expertise, they're going nowhere and with the latest statistic’s the South West of England has hit a high rise of unemployment since 2014 to 2016 that has still seen no positive drop since 2014 within Somerset, Devon and Cornwall hit the hardest.

So unless you can wave a magic wand to cover all of our training time and cost, then it’s not going to be viable for any company to give anyone practical training for free, and things will only get a lot worse, before it gets any better, as we have already seen with the UK government wasting over £5 Billion on useless unemployment schemes that never actually deliver any practical results in the UK.
